Cow peas looks like beans, but are smaller, and brown to red in colour, with a great nutty flavour. It could be marble coloured, green or white too. The red and brown varieties are more common. 1cup Parboiled Rice
1/2 cup Red cow peas
1/2cup Urad dal
1inch Ginger pieces
2nos Dry red chillies
Salt
Soak redcow peas with enough water overnite..soak parboiled rice for 2 hrs as well as urad dal..drain the excess of water from the red cow peas n wash 3 times with cold water n keep aside..
Grind bit coarsely rice with ginger n red chillies, grind both urad dal n soaked redcow peas bit finely, add both batters with enough salt n keep aside for 2 hours..
Heat a tawa, pour a ladle full of redcowpeas batter n turn them in circular shape n cook them with enough oil..
