Curry Leaf announced Tasty palettes for Tried &Tasted event, immediately i went through Suganya's Tasty palettes recipes,i got hooked to her saffron rice as well as for her punjabi okra which pulled me to try for my saturday's lunch..both dishes r really very easy to follow n also delicious dishes, both dishes works out wonder together...This saffron rice n punjabi okra are my entries for

here ...
1cup Basmati Rice
1tsp Butter
1+1/2cups Water
3pinch Saffron
2nos Cloves
2nos Cardamom crushed
Salt
Add everything to the washed basmati rice n pressure cook for 2 whistles..i just add a tsp of butter to avoid the grains get sticky...
2cups Okra pieces
1no Onion chopped
2nos Garlic cloves (minced)
1no Tomato chopped
2nos Green chillies( slit opened)
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
1/2tsp Garam masala
1/4tsp ed chilly powder
1/2tsp Coriander powder
1/4cup Yogurt
Salt
Oil
Heat oil n add the cumin seeds, add the onions, green chilles, minced garlic cloves n saute everything for a while, add the tomatoes n saute again for few seconds, add the okra, garam masala powde, red chilly powder, corinder powder and salt.. mix well springle some water and cover it with a lid, stir occasionally until the okra get cooked, add the garam masala n yogurt, toss everything well n cook until the oil get separates...
Saffron rice n punjabi okra goes wondeful together... this delicious pair also goes to
