This is indeed a very simple recipe and can be made in few minutes. Further the ingredients are very few and no sugar is required because dates have the hightest natural sugar.
Ingredients :2 cups seedless dates (Khajur)
1 cup mix dryfruits
(I used cashews, almonds, raisins)
3 teaspoons ghee
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
Khus-khus (Poppy Seeds) for rolling (Approx. 2 tablespoons)
Preparation :First dry roast khus-khus (Poppy seeds) in a pan and keep it aside
Then take 1 tspn ghee in the heated pan
Saute the dry fruits for 1-2 minutes
Allow it to cool
Then transfer the dry fruits into a grinder
Make coarse mixture of dry fruits and keep aside
Then make coarse mixture of seedless dates in grinder
Heat 1 tspn of ghee in pan
Add ground seedless dates and saute it for 2-3 minutes
Then add coarse mixture of dryfruits
Mix all the ingredients together
Turn off the heat
Add cardamom powder to the mixture
If the mixture is dry, add one more teaspoon of ghee to the mixture
To make laddus :
Grease your palms with little ghee
Divide the mixture into approx 22-25 portions
Make small balls of each portion
Roll it into roasted khus khus
Notes :Make laddus when the mixture is hot.
Poppy seeds may also be added inside the mixture while making laddus
If more sweetness is required, then 1 teaspoon of grated jaggery can be added to this mixture
