Our family has
finally recovered from that horrible sickness we had last week. It was pretty rough. Taking care of sick kids, a sick hubby and your sick self is no bueno. Some of us had sore throats, all of us had coughs, and I got stuck with a lovely sinus infection. Good times.
Not.
I realized today I have a
ton of recipe pictures that are waiting in my camera, ready to be edited and blogged. When I was going through all of them I was a little overwhelmed. There were so many to choose from! I decided to go with these Cake Batter Rice Krispies. I made these for Kelsey's friend party we threw for her birthday. Lucky girl had two parties this year :) Needless to say, these were a big hit with the kids!
Cake Batter Rice Krispie Treats3 Tablespoons butter1 (10 ounce) bag marshmallows
1/4 cup yellow cake mix (just the dry mix,
not prepared into a batter)
6 cups crispy rice cereal
1 (1.75 ounce) container of sprinkles
Directions: Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt. One tablespoon at a time, stir in dry cake mix. Mix well to incorporate. Once cake mix is all mixed in and marshmallows are melted, remove from heat. Stir in cereal so it is completely coated in marshmallow mixture. Press into a greased 9x13 baking pan. Let stand for atleast 30 minutes before cutting. Enjoy!
