Arby's Roast Beef SandwichesCopycat Recipe
Serves 8
1 (3 to 4 pound) roast
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
8 onion hamburger buns or regular hamburger bun
Roast Beef: Place roast in crock pot. Stir remaining ingredients together and pour over roast. Cook on LOW all night. The next morning stir together. Remove any membrane or fat if desired. Stir well again. Let simmer on LOW until noon or evening. Serve on buns
Arby's Cheese Sauce
Copycat Recipe
2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese1 cup Cheez Whiz4 tablespoons milk½ tsp salt
Cheese Sauce: Prepare Cheese sauce by combining cheddar cheese, Cheez Whiz, and milk in a small saucepan over med/low heat. Stir cheese mixture often as it heats, so that it does not burn.Add salt. When all of the cheddar cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth, cover pan and set aside.
Arby's BBQ Sauce Copycat Recipe
1 cup catsup2 teaspoon water¼ teaspoon garlic powder¼ teaspoon onion powder¼ teaspoon pepper¼ teaspoon salt½ teaspoon Tabasco
Arby's Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over med heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce begins to boil, 5 to 10 min.Remove the sauce from the heat. Cover and allow to cool.Pour into a covered container for storage in your refrigerator. Keeps for a month or two. Makes 1 cup.
Arby's Horsey SauceCopycat Recipe
1 cup mayo3 tablespoon bottled horseradish cream sauce1 tablespoon sugar or 2 packages equal
Horsey Sauce: Mix all well. Keep refrigerated, tightly covered to use in 2 weeks.
Arby's Au Jus SauceCopycat Recipe
3 cups water4 teaspoons beef bouillon (or 4 cubes)1 teaspoon soy sauce1/4 teaspoon garlic powdersalt and pepper
Place the water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil.Reduce heat to low; whisk in the beef bouillon.Whisk in the soy sauce, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste.If you like a thicker Au Jus gravy, you can also whisk in a little flour to thicken it.
NOTESMake your sandwich the way you like it with any of the sauces above. The plain roast beef sandwich comes on a toasted sesame seed bun. The beef and cheddar comes on an onion roll with BBQ sauce. You can also add bacon, lettuce and tomato or put the beef on a sub roll with melted swiss cheese and dip it in au jus. sauce.
