I usually prepare curries and gravies with radish chunks, but this time i wanted to make them as one pot meal,yeah as something spicy along with rice..Immediately i went through some wonderful blogs and finally i find out this delicious rasdish rice at Shilpa's
Aayi's Recipes, since this rice goes for simple ingredients and a special spice powder i wanted to give a trial, i just used lemon juice instead of tamarind extract she used for else i followed the recipe as per she went for, this rice tastes absolutely delicious with papads and we loved it...As she said the tender radishes which i used in this rice does nt give a strong smell and its goes prefectly as lunch box menu with fried papads or fryums..Sending this radish rice to Nupur's
BB # 8 -One Dish Meals..
2cups Cooked rice
1no Onion (big & chopped finely)
2cups Radish (chopped finely)
few Curry leaves
1tsp Mustard seeds, urad dal
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
1tsp Red chilly powder
Ghee
Salt
1tsp Lemon juice
Dry roast & grind:2tsp Channadal
2tsp Urad dal
2tsp Coriander seeds
1tbsp Dessicated coconut
Grind all the ingredients given in the list'dry roast & grind' as fine powder..
Heat oil, let splutters mustard seeds,urad dal & asafoetida powder..Add the onions,curry leaves and saute until the onions turns transculent...
Add immediately the radish chunks, salt,the grounded spice powder, chilli powder and saute everything for few minutes, add enough water and cook until the veggies get well cooked..
Now add the rice and lemon juice, toss everything gently..
Serve hot with papads or pickles..
